Building a pool and its associated environment in your backyard is really a three pronged adventure. In all three cases; choices, management and sub-contractors, American Pools and Fountains could not have performed better.
What you build is all based on choices. From budgetary and existing house and landscaping constraints to figuring out what you want and don't want in a pool environment is an almost insurmountable layering of choices. Every American Pools and Fountains employee listened, suggested and coached with equal amounts of realism, excitement and functionality. It is a tribute to American Pool's abilities that now that it's all completed there is not one thing in the whole project I would change if I had it all to do over again.
To me, management of a project is a combination of always being there, always being flexible and always overseeing every piece of the project to ensure maximum results. American Pools and Fountains, from my 10:00 PM idea calls to my thinking of a detail that they already thought of and completed yesterday to their critical oversight of every step, proved to be superlative managers. The epitome of their management was the fact that the entire project was finished in 6 weeks regardless of the fact that one week was lost to rain.
As we all know, the strongest chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Plumbers, electricians, concreters, plasterers, deck builders, landscapers, irrigators and more were each a link in the project. I am relieved, excited and thankful that American Pools and Fountains used only the best craftsmen who in turn handled each process in both a professional and exemplary manner. Their combined efforts resulted in the absence of a weak link and rather an argument of which group did the most expertise job, as all were perfectionists.
In summary, American Pools and Fountains exceeded all my expectations in every facet of the project and made the construction of a resort in my backyard a wonderful adventure.

We appreciated so much doing business with your company that l had intended writing a "thank you" note a few months later. Sorry it has taken so long.
My wife and I have dealt with building contractors and pool contractors in the past and were not looking forward to repeating the experience again. However, we could not find the home we wanted and began the process all over again. Selecting a builder was not easy, but I think we were fortunate and got a good one.
Some friends in Solon told us horror stories about their experience with builders and the tales were only worse when we began asking about pool contractors.
However, we wanted a pool, and called two pool contractors and, I think, intended to get three bids. We met with one of your competitors and got a bid and what sounded like a memorized sales pitch. We visited with you next and got no more bids.
You were all gentleman, articulate, and patient. Above all, American Pools, provided some creative ideas concerning construction and explained the process to us.
What a pleasant surprise it was to meet with you and realize that you were all very professional, and answered questions, and explained what was going on.

I just wanted to send a note of thanks to all of you at American Pools and Fountains. As you all know I had a pool built by a National company at my previous address and was not pleased with the results.
When I built my new house in 2001, the exterior-landscape and pool was almost as important to me as my house plans. Your team did an excellent job of listening to me, looking at various pictures, and coordinating plans with my builder and landscape designer. You took the time to make my dream pool and spa a reality. The quality of the workmanship has been proven through these years.
